SPEAKERS: Willie & Debbie Batson

Willie Batson is a pastor, speaker, relationship coach, and the author of two books – “Tools for a Great Marriage” and “Tools for a Great Marriage Devotional.” He has spoken and taught for more than 45 years on marriage, parenting, and personal growth topics. Debbie has been a dental hygienist, a Christian school teacher, and a youth athletic coach. In 2024, she completed an extensive course with the National Academy of Sports Medicine to become a Certified Wellness Coach, helping individuals pursue health and wellness in their physical and emotional lives.

Willie and Debbie, each widowed after many years of marriage, married in 2022. Drawing from biblical truth, practical experience, and personal stories of perseverance through caregiving, grief, remarriage, and ministry leadership, Debbie and Willie equip people with tools they can apply immediately.

Whether speaking at marriage getaways or coaching couples personally, they aim to equip individuals and couples with practical information that challenges them to work through relational issues in a Christ-centered way. The goal is not perfection but progress—a marriage marked by grace, growth, and a growing reflection of Christ’s love.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • + What are sessions like?

There will be three sessions over the day to give you spiritual encouragement and help you connect on a deeper level.

  • + What should we bring?

Bible and notebook, casual, comfortable clothes (we recommend layers for varying indoor and outdoor temps).

Note: We desire to provide an atmosphere of modesty as Scripture demonstrates (Gen. 3:21, 1 Cor. 12:23, 1 Tim. 2:9). While we have freedom in Christ in how we apply the principles of modesty, we ask that discretion and deference guide your clothing choices for camp.

  • + Can I bring my baby?

If you have a nursing baby, you’re welcome to bring them. There are speakers in the lobby if you need to take the baby out during session.

  • + Do we need to bring any food?

Lunch is provided, and morning and afternoon snacks will be available. If you need allergy specific snacks, please bring those.

  • + What about food allergies?

We do our best to offer main menu items that are accessible for most people (i.e. chicken, veggies, potato, rice, etc). We send our menus out pre-event.

NUTS: We don’t intentionally cook with nuts aside from PB cookies occasionally and keeping a jar of PB available. If cross contamination is an issue, we aren’t able to verify if every source (oats, bottled sauces or dressings, etc) have cross contamination.

GLUTEN: Most of our items are naturally gluten-free and are labeled on the hotline. Items like oatmeal bakes are made without gluten, but are not certified GF. All items made in the same kitchen as wheat/gluten may contain trace amounts.

DAIRY: Most dairy is separate from the main items and not in it, with the exception of cookies.

Because Maranatha values keeping camp affordable, we do not prepare additional, allergy-specific food, like gluten-free bread or dairy free milk. Please make a note of allergies in your registration so we can be aware as we plan.

You’re welcome to bring your own supplemental food if you need additional items (ready to eat or microwaveable). We have a fridge designated for this.

  • + How do I apply for financial aid?

Camp Maranatha works hard to keep camp rates affordable in any season of life. For those working through financial hardship, we want to help! Check out our scholarship policy page to get started on our four-step process.

  • + What if I need to cancel?

Please email to let us know.

    Cancellation policy:
Camp Maranatha does not want your inability to attend an event to cause financial hardship. Deposits are non-refundable as they cover processing fees. Any payments made in excess of the deposit may be refunded if given notice at least one week prior to the event, or if you have a family emergency or sickness at the time of the event. You can also opt to donate your registration fee towards our scholarship fund.
