God is Still at Work!

Posted October 6, 2023

What a great fall it’s been at Maranatha so far! We completed our Women’s Retreat and first-ever Couples’ Conference. Our 2023 event season is nearing a close, with our last retreat (Men’s) at the end of the month. As we’ve studied Legacy at our events, one of our speakers reminded that in the desire to pass on a spiritual legacy:

“Your task is not to change hearts, it’s to pass on what’s been given to you—the hope and joy found in Jesus.” Olivia Ruhl

That’s what we’re praying for–that the work God begins in hearts here at camp would ripple into families and churches and communities, spreading the hope and joy found in Jesus alone.

Here is a glimpse into God’s work, shared by guests at our last two events:

“I needed the reminder to ‘live for the days I will not see.’ ”

“God’s plan is fulfilled no matter my circumstance. I shouldn’t avoid difficult situations.”

“I need to forgive even when my spouse has not asked.”

“We need to preach the gospel to ourselves daily. Certainly heard these Scriptures before, but need to be reminded. Taking a weekend away and being spiritually cared for is such a blessing.”

Praise God! In the discouragement of life in a broken world, it can be easy to forget that God is still in the business of transforming hearts and lives. We hope this encourages you!
