Pray First // The Light Of Christmas

“The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.” — John 1:9 

December brings us face to face with the wonder of Christmas—Christ, the Light of the World, entering the darkness. From the first pages of Scripture, we see God’s promise of a Savior, and in Bethlehem’s manger that promise was fulfilled. The eternal Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth (John 1:14).

Advent reminds us not only of His first coming, but also of His promised return. Just as Israel waited in longing for their Messiah, so we wait with hope for Christ to come again and make all things new. Christmas anchors our hearts in this tension: He has come, and He will come again.

In the midst of busy schedules, traditions, and celebrations, may we slow down and remember the heart of the season—God with us. Christ entered our world of sin and sorrow to bring peace, hope, and eternal joy. The greatest gift we receive is not found under a tree, but in the One who hung on a tree to give us life.

WAYS TO PRAY THIS MONTH

  • Praise God for sending His Son, the true Light, into our darkness.

  • Thank Him for His faithfulness—He fulfilled His promises in Christ and will keep every promise still to come.

  • Ask for peace in your heart and home this season, guarding against distraction and worry.

  • Pray for opportunities to shine Christ’s light to neighbors, coworkers, and family who need to know His hope.

  • Look forward with joy to Christ’s return, when every tear will be wiped away.

  • God’s steady provision for the ministry throughout 2025—spiritually and financially
  • Many new friends and faithful partners who have joined in prayer, service, and giving this year.
  • Growth in young leaders and volunteers who have stepped into greater responsibility.
  • Clear signs of God’s hand strengthening the ministry for long-term service.

PRAY WITH US

  • For God’s provision through year-end giving, so that the ministry begins 2026 on solid ground.
  • For wisdom in stewarding resources to keep ministry affordable and impactful for families.

  • For staff and board members to enter the new year refreshed and aligned with God’s vision for Camp Maranatha.

  • For hearts to remain fixed on Christ, the true Light, as we serve Him together.
