Cultivating a Spiritual Legacy

Posted April 4, 2023

This winter, we hosted a Father Son Retreat and a Father Daughter Retreat, serving 41 dads and their children. Our “connect time” at the end of sessions has shown much fruit the last couple years, where dads have an opportunity to engage in spiritual conversations and reading Scripture with their sons or daughters. It deepens relationships around Jesus and beautifully represents cultivating a spiritual legacy.

You may remember that our camp theme is Legacy, so we’re talking about what it looks like to pass on the faith at every opportunity! Our winter retreat speakers emphasized this well. Our Father Daughter speaker pointed to the foundation of spiritual legacy:

“The best, most important thing you can provide your children is a proper understanding of the gospel.” Tim Costine

And our Father Son speaker reminded us that the end goal of a spiritual legacy is not about us:

“May the legacy you leave not be to mark yourself look good in the eyes of your kids, but to make GOD look great.” Ben Ruhl

We are so grateful for God’s work in lives here. Thank you for partnering with us in prayer!
